Alarm New Zealand recommends that Secure-Link be operated outside the customers private office network as Alarm and video service agents may interfere with the customers business network operation inadvertently. Other services such as Fire-Link and Video-Link normally require this type of secure line supervision and bandwidth.

High Security Communications

For high-risk business customers who need a un-interruptible alarm transmission link between their site and the ALARMNZ monitoring centre.

Many commercial customers have recently experienced burglary attacks where phone lines have been cut preventing signals reaching the alarm monitoring station. To meet this threat Alarm New Zealand has developed a service called Secure-Link. This service comes in two options "Standard" and "Fast" where in both cases a secondary communications circuit is established between the customers alarm which immediately informs the monitoring centre if the phone line has been cut.

Secure-link "Standard" has normal bandwidth, data throughput and is suited for regular security alarm backup functions as often requested by insurers. Secure-link "Fast" has greater bandwidth, allows larger volumes of data transfer and is suitable for those customers who want to centrally audit security information from access control and/or video surveillance systems  ( please note: monthly data volumes over 5GB may incur higher charges)

Fire

Tip- If you don't have Secure-Link installed then make sure your telephone lines are underground. Also verify your Alarm system is connected directly to a outside line and is not running via you office phone system which is likely to fail if a power cut occurs.
