A recent example was a sensor fault that developed on the first day of the Waitangi weekend. The alarm activated on two occasions in the morning. In accordance with the response plan a guard was sent each time and reported there was no visible reason. On the third activation and check the operator contacted me that there was something out of the ordinary going on and was able to present me with a number of options. As it seemed this was a sensor fault he was able to bypass that zone remotely. This both kept the system operation over the long weekend and saved the association significant costs in either continued deployment of guards or having to send a technician during a long weekend. This was a fine example of what I have come to expect from Alarm New Zealand. The response plans are followed but the operators experience is applied professionally. Decisions are left to the appropriate persons, but I am always supplied with the relevant information to base that decision upon.
